The Young Eccentric AKA Sabrina Carder, is a bright and quirky 23-year-old fashion blogger from London. Not only does she have a distinctively colourful style but is also a journalist for Yahoo, and isn’t afraid to make fun of herself- testament that a fashion blogger can be more than just a pretty face. This great sense of humour and unique style can be clearly seen in her amazing YEAY videos, so of course, we wanted to find out a little bit more about this eccentric gal.
Interview by Jayne Phillips
How did you find yourself in the world of fashion and blogging?
Haha! My venture into blogging was completely unplanned. I dress quite eccentrically and no one in my real life really understood my style. I was so fed up of being told to go and change by my mom or getting weird looks from friends that I decided to upload looks online to find people who shared my style. Luckily I did. 😊
What was it like creating your YEAY videos? Got any useful tips to share with the community?
I’ve actually got a degree in film production and it was SO fun to play around with video again. My top tip is to just have fun with it!
If money were no object, what would be your dream YEAY video to make?
Okay so I would be going around L.A. on a white horse that has been made to look like a unicorn, throwing dollars at people down the street whilst wearing the most dreamy ball gown and eating a donut. (You did say if money was no option :P)
What’s your favourite video you’ve seen on the app so far?
I’m SO obsessed with everything I Hate Blonde uploads in the YEAY app!
If you were stranded on a desert island, what would be your three essential items to take with you?
Matches, a knife, and a water bottle (I ain’t no dumb blonde).
Who is your favourite designer at the moment?
Ashish and Jeremy Scott! I love them SOOOO much!!
What has been your favourite OOTD this season?
This outfit that I shot for Vogue Japan a few weeks back.
What excites you about the YEAY concept?
It’s just so different and let’s people really express their style and personality, which I love.
Do you have a favourite inspirational message or quote you’d like to share with the YEAY community?
Life Is An Adventure.
